I had never heard about the YouTube Channel IsmaHawk until today, but what got my attention was their recently released – Wonder Woman vs. Thor video. This is all fan made and the fight that we get to see is brief, but it is so well done! I would love for them to do a full on budgeted movie. Check them out in the attached video.

What?! I didn’t even know that a movie based on the creator of Wonder Woman was being made. This is cool. I’m sure there will be comic book historians that disagree with this movie, and others that do not like the concept, but still I think this is awesome. I am by lacking a lot of history of Wonder Woman’s creation. The little I know about Dr. William Marston is that he helped create the lie detector test and was also in a relationship with his wife and former student. They lived together with their combined children together. Luke Evans plays Marston with Rebecca Hall as his wife.

The synopsis for the movie reads:

The unconventional life of Dr. William Marston, the Harvard psychologist and inventor who helped invent the modern lie detector test and created Wonder Woman in 1941. Marston was in a polyamorous relationship with his wife Elizabeth, a psychologist and inventor in her own right, and Olive Byrne, a former student who became an academic. This relationship was key to the creation of Wonder Woman, as Elizabeth and Olive’s feminist ideals were ingrained in the character from her creation. Marston died of skin cancer in 1947, but Elizabeth and Olive remained a couple and raised their and Marston’s children together. The film is said to focus on how Marston dealt with the controversy surrounding Wonder Woman’s creation.

This movie is set to release sometime in 2017.

I loved the season finale of Supergirl. It had it’s ups and downs. I won’t spoil the ending in case anyone has not seen it yet. But if you did happen to watch the show and watch the commercials, there was a great promo for Wonder Woman. It even features Linda Carter and it just totally made me smile! The clip is below.

Is that Wonder Woman and Superman’s alternate reality son being shown on DC Comic’s August solicitations? I don’t know, but damn! That’s badass! I’m sure this is just a one story thing, but I have learned that many alternate reality characters can do a lot and reappear if enough fans want to see it. And doesn’t he look a lot like Conner Kent? Justice League has been boring me a bit lately, but I’m picking this up.

The synopsis reads:

Written by BRYAN HITCH • Art by FERNANDO PASARIN and OCLAIR ALBERT • Cover by BRYAN HITCH • Variant cover by NICK BRADSHAW
“LEGACY” part one! A group of heroes from a post-apocalyptic future escape into the past to stop their world from coming to be. But to do it they’re going to need the help of the Justice League—who just happen to be these time travelers’ parents!
On sale AUGUST 2 • 32 pg, $2.99 US • RATED T

It seems odd that Wonder Woman comes out in a month and I have barely seen any advertisement for her up coming movie. This should be such a huge event. Princess Diana is THE most famous female comic book superhero of all time. She should be having TV spots everywhere. I have seen 2 tv spots and a couple trailers. Why is Warner Bros not promoting the FUCK out of her like they did with all of the past DC superhero movies? I couldn’t go two minutes without seeing an advertisement for Suicide Squad. But Wonder Woman has barely been mentioned. Maybe after Guardians of the Galaxy comes out? Any one have any ideas? I really hope it is not something sinister on the side.

I love this and I can’t wait to see this! This looks pretty badass. Although honestly I was convinced about Wonder Woman’s first movie – Batman v. Superman. I mean that was just an introductory movie for Wonder Woman in my opinion anyway. What do you think of the trailer?

Oh yeah, if you’re a Wonder Woman fan or a doll collector (technically they are not being advertised as Barbie dolls) fan or both, you’re in luck. Entertainment Weekly has their first glimpse of the new Wonder Woman dolls coming out for all you toy fans out there. These pics are from Toy Fair in New York City and is based on the June 2 release of the live action Wonder Woman movie. I am by far no where near as versed in Barbie-lore as I am in the action figure realm, but I do have several Barbies and other Barbie-like dolls myself. I even have a Wonder Woman doll that was produced for the Batman v. Superman movie that came out. These look pretty darn good from what I can see. I especially love the blonde Hippolyta and Steve Trevor. What do you think?

I’m sure we have all seen the Spider-Man Homecoming trailer, but it should be noted that Tom Holland is a cutie! Plus, holy hell he’s got a great body. He has officially received the Marvel Treatment and has a 8-pack abs. I love it. I can’t wait to see this!

Speaking of trailers, are any of you a fan of Planet of the Apes? I loved both of the previous movies released in this series. The new movie called War for the Planet of the Apes looks to also be great. I am loving the prequel story to how the Apes became dominant. We know the outcome inevitably, but the journey that is being presented is what I’m excited about seeing.

Also, have you seen the fan made Wonder Woman vs. Wolverine fan film made by Bat in the Sun Productions? It has received some criticism from fans of both characters as well as writers from the series, but I did thoroughly enjoy it myself. This is just one of many interpretations of the characters and I love the costume designs, the actors being used and the effects were pretty darn good. I have met the guy that plays Wolverine on several occasions and he’s a great guy that really works hard on the characterization of his superhero attire. The fight itself starts approximately at the 4:12 minute mark in the video below.

Today, October 21, 2016, is Wonder Woman Day. Besides this year being the 75th Anniversary of Wonder Woman being introduced, both Linda Carter and Gal Gadot, former and present Wonder Women, are present at the United Nations to witness Wonder Woman becoming an Honorary Ambassador for the Empowerment of Women and Girls. Both actresses visited the United Nations in support of Sustainable Development Goal 5, which is to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls everywhere. Check out the official U.N. page at: UN.Org/SustainableDevelopment/WonderWoman

Wonder Woman has inspired people everywhere to overcome so many obstacles in life. Women in general face oppression and continually must fight to be seen as equals in all facets of media, including comic books. Wonder Woman is by far the most famous comic book female superhero of all time and is arguably one of the strongest characters ever created, both in power levels and personality. It is fitting that her character be honored on her 75th Anniversary at the United Nations. Recently DC writer Greg Rucka has confirmed that the women of Paradise Island, and Wonder Woman herself, is bisexual. This was very common knowledge among any reader who had even a small inkling of background on the fictitious island of all women living together for centuries. But it was nice to finally hear it out loud.

Princess Diana has shifted from time to time in her beliefs and her defined background has been altered depending on the writer and current developments within the DC Comic Book Universe. But one thing for me that is always true – She is a symbol of hope, power and equality.

DC Comics has made an official animated movie similar to the way Batman and Superman were honored on their 75th Anniversaries as well. The video below is quite awesome and definitely shows the ups and downs of the Amazon Princess throughout her superhero career. Check out it out when you get a chance.

Wonder Woman 1

Wonder Woman first appeared in All Star Comics #8 back in December 1941. She was created by Dr. William Moulton Marston, who is also the man credited with creating the polygraph test. Since then Wonder Woman has gone on to become the most famous of all female comic book characters by far. Her main purpose was to stand against male tyranny and dominance while bringing peace to man’s world. She is an Amazon and has varying origins depending on the the era of comic books. The most popular origin is she was created from clay by Queen Hippolyta of the Amazons on Themyscira, and granted gifts from the Gods. She has had several TV movies and a TV series as well. It is fitting that she finally appears in a cinematic movie, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice on her 75th Anniversary.

Unfortunately Wonder Woman has never had her own ongoing series like Detective Comics or Action Comics as Batman and Superman have had in the past. It would have been great had Sensational Comics continued on through the past decades. Regardless though, Her series has restarted with Wonder Woman returning back to a much more iconic look. She is exploring her past as her origin that she is aware of in the current DC Universe has been revealed to be a possible lie. This is incredible news to many fans as her current origin that she is a daughter of Zeus. She is also much more arrogant and quick to attack rather than find a peaceful means to counter a conflict in the New 52 Universe. This is a polar opposite of her previous incarnation. The beginning of this new series is fixing this issue and bringing the character back to her roots. It is a great read and some supporting characters and villains that have not appeared in the New 52 Universe are also being brought back, in a much different way. Check out the video below for my thoughts on the first issue.
