What the fuck?! I thought this was a joke, but it’s not. Reported on Entertainment Weekly, there is a new series that is bringing back Thundercats, but in a more Titans Go! comical series. No really. This is a thing. I know it is marketed towards children, but is this really? The previous two series were astounding. This looks so…ehhh… It feels like nothing toward the original series or the 2011 remake.

The official tagline of the show states: “Staying true to the premise of the original series, Lion-O and the ThunderCats — Tygra, Panthro, Cheetara, Wilykat, and Wilykit — barely escape the sudden destruction of their home world, Thundera, only to crash land on the mysterious and exotic planet of Third Earth. Lion-O, the newly appointed Lord of the ThunderCats, attempts to lead the team as they make this planet their new home. A bizarre host of creatures and villains stand in their way, including the evil Mumm-Ra, Third Earth’s wicked ruler who will let nothing, including the ThunderCats, stop his tyrannical reign over the planet.”

The premise sounds traditional to the original 1980s Thundercats, but what the fuck are they thinking with this animation and to make it a comedy? Ugh…there was a great remake to the Thundercats series that ran on Cartoon Network that never got a finale. Why couldn’t that be done on Netflix? I would absolutely fangasm if we had a second season to that one as it was so well made and still giving respect to the original series. This new series is set to air in 2019. I will give it one episode but more than likely not be watching it.

Below is a small interview with Victor Courtwright, Producer of the show.

Mumm-Ra and Skeletor have enslaved the ancient spirits of evil and have them attacking Eternia. Without He-Man and Lion-O, who are traveling back from Third Earth, it is up to the combined forces of the Thundercats and the Masters of the Universe to stop them. This is a fun issue with lots of action and battles taking place. It is worth it just to see Jaga and the Sorceress working together. Unfortunately there’s only one more issue left, but potentially capable of continuing on.

It’s Mumm-Ra – The Ever Living! This was the Thundercats Classics Exclusive figure available from MattyCollector’s Thundercat subscription toy series. He is a great scult and I love how he turned out. A shame that he is the last of my Thundercats figures, but I hope this line will be continued on later.

The 4th issue of the He-Man/Thundercats crossover is out. Prince Adam has died from wounds inflicted by Mumm-Ra. Lion-O takes it upon himself to try and save the Prince of Eternia, which blows up in his face because it causes He-Man to go insane. We finally get a battle between the King of the Thundercats and the Most Powerful Man in the Universe. It is epic!

Pumyra from the Thundercats Classics figures from MattyCollector is out and is pretty awesome. Besides being slightly taller than expected and a slightly off eye paint app, this is a great figure. I will be giving her a great home among all of my other toy figures, especially my Masters of the Universe He-Man figures.

It’s Jackalman from the Thundercats Classics toyline…cancelled toyline. But the figures we did get from MattyCollector were pretty darn awesome! I love my figure personally and really wish we got the rest of the mutants released. Regardless though, there is hope in the future and we will more than likely see a continuation later. Here’s my thoughts on this guy.

We are half way through the He-Man/Thundercats crossover from DC Comics. Skeletor has supposedly killed Mumm-Ra and taken the power of He-Man for himself. But luckily the Thundercats have finally entered the fight. We get to see an awesome clash of cats vs the Overload of Evil. It is an epic story that fans have been waiting to see for decades! Check out my thoughts on the issue in this video.

It’s the second issue for the He-Man/Thundercats crossover that fans have been waiting to see for over 30 years. This issue is more Masters of the Universe heavy and barely shows the Thundercats, but we get an epic battle. The Mutants and Skeletor’s henchmen join forces to take on the Most Powerful Man in the Universe himself. Plus Skeletor has a huge upgrade thanks to Mumm-Ra. Great second issue!

Besides me, who else has been waiting for a Masters of the Universe/Thundercats crossover? We get a lot of parodies that show both He-Man and Lion-O having sexual overtones with each other. We even get match ups on line with endless debates as to who would defeat the other. DC Comics has finally decided to pair the two franchises up in an independent universe. Here’s the first issue and I thought it came out pretty darn good. I avoided speaking of any real spoilers.

Lion-O from the MattyCollector toyline has come out. FINALLY! It was delayed because of a factory problem, but this figure has finally been released. I do have to say that he is darn cool. Here’s on my thoughts on the Lord of the Thundercats toy.
