It’s the third issue of the alien/human crew venturing to the depths of space and back. This issue has the Star Crossed crew coming across a group of robotic beings that are determined to collect DNA samples from each of the members in order to re-populate the universe if necessary. Check out my thoughts on this book in the attached video. This issue was written by Patrick Fillion and illustrated by Alexander.

Have you heard of the upcoming fan film – Star Wars: Odyssey? Most fan films focus on the Jedi or the Sith, but this film is taking place before the events of A New Hope and looks at the soldiers in the Rebel Alliance. So far, only a small trailer has been shown, but for fan film quality, this is incredible. I am following them anxiously to see more of their work.

The description for the film reads: Odyssey: A Star Wars Story is a magnified look at the soldiers that made up the rebel alliance during the Galactic Civil War. Five Years before the events of A New Hope, Quinn Kiner, a member of Odyssey squadron, sets out on a reconnaissance mission to the Imperial Occupied Moon of Anjek. They must personally deliver a message to a rebel contact while evading the empire’s forces. Given they were strictly ordered not to interfere with civilian affairs, Quinn must make a decision that could threaten the lives of his comrades.

From the awesome Class Comics Universe, we have Star Crossed. This is somewhat like the gay, very sexualized concept of galactic mercenaries running about in the Class Comic Superhero universe. This was drawn by Alexander and written by Patrick Fillion. Check out my thoughts on this second issue in the attached video.

I know many do not care about a Han Solo prequel movie, but I have been figuratively dying to see a movie based on our favorite Scruffy Looking Nerf Herder! Growing up, all my friends wanted to be a Sith Lord or a Jedi Knight. I wanted to be the scoundrel. I love Han Solo! So I’m super stoked about this movie. What do you think?

A new sexy take on the Star Wars music by the Shirtless Violinist. His stuff is always awesome. Video Description: New music video is based on the final moments of The Force Awakens, when Rey sets out to find Luke Skywalker on his isolated island and return his long-lost lightsaber. In this version of the story, my boyfriend Paul plays the part of Rey – and instead of seeking Luke, he’s searching for the fabled Shirtless Violinist to return his bow…and possibly confess his love.

Some people hated the premiere of Star Trek: Discovery and some loved it. I was entertained myself and I will tune in to the series. I did have lots of problems, however there were not enough negatives for me to skip past the series altogether. I will tune into it! I admit I am not the biggest of Trekkies or Trekkers, so I did not read a lot more than just a basic plot of the series before watching the first two episodes. So I did not know what to be expecting. Maybe this is one of the reasons that I was not as disappointed as others. Also, I can except the changes in history and canon and the look of the Klingons. Which I know that’s blasphemy for some out there.

The only *SPOILER* I will give is…

***SPOILER*** I was anxiously waiting to see Anthony Rapp’s character of Lt. Paul Stamlets and Wilson Cruz as Medical Officer Hugh Culber. Since they did not appear, I was disappointed. I am a bit biased on wanting to like their characters as I was hoping to see these two openly gay actors playing two gay characters in a sci-fi show that has had mostly only heterosexual relationships. So not seeing any hint of either of them, was a downer for me. However I can wait. I will be patient and I do want to see the series based on many other factors besides just this. Although this is just my opinion though. What do you think? Did you like it?

Anthony Rapp let it be known at San Diego Comic Con 2017 that he will be in a relationship with Wilson Cruz on Star Trek: Discovery. Rapp will play Starfleet Science Officer Lt. Stamets and Cruz will be medical officer Dr. Hugh Culber.

Rapp stated: “I can announce that Wilson Cruz will play my love interest and my partner in Star Trek: Discovery…I’m very proud of that and that he’s a scientist.”

Awesome! Not only will we have another gay couple in Star Trek but the characters will be played by gay men. I know that should not be a huge deal but to me it is a big deal. Other than a few cable shows like Looking, or Queer as Folk where the show is described as being a gay show, most gay couples on screen are played by at least one or both actors who identify as heterosexual in their personal lives. So this does make me happy. Plus I adore both Wilson and Anthony. Wilson will always be that guy from My So Called Life while Anthony is the annoying best friend in Adventures in Babysitting (or the guy from Rent).

Star Trek: Discovery is set to air on September 24, 2017 on CBS All Access. Obviously there are a lot of haters for many reasons on this show, and this gay romance is something that is adding to it. I personally cannot wait to see this and hope that the show is a success. What do you think of Wilson Cruz and Anthony Rapp in these roles?

Before you know it, The Last Jedi will be out. Star Wars fans will be going insane everyday as the date gets closer. So many promos and ads will be posted everywhere. Vanity Fair made several covers with the main cast that are beautiful! My personal favorite is the cover with Finn and Poe with new character Rose Tico. But then I’m really hoping that Finn/Poe will be a thing. That’s just my personal feelings. Although the last cover with the late Carrie Fisher does have a special meaning. Anyways, I just wanted to share these in case anyone has not seen them yet. The Last Jedi comes out December 15, 2017.

I know everyone already knows, but Carrie Fisher has passed on. I am quite saddened by this. Princess Leia was obviously her most well known role, but she was also a person that was cared about by many others. She will be missed by so many. Including me. I am breaking my rule of not showing women on my site for her. It took a Princess passing for me to break that rule. And I will add that for so many reasons, including this factor, the year 2016 has not been great.

Carrie Fisher October 21, 1956 – December 27, 2016
