There once was a very short lived Marvel Comics superhero by the name of Freedom Ring. His name was Curtis Doyle and he was created by Robert Kirkman of Walking Dead fame. Unfortunately for Curtis Doyle, he was a novice at being a superhero hero and fell in a horrible humiliating way, even for an inexperienced superhero. He was part of the Marvel Team Up Vol. 3 comic book series and was printed in 2006’s issues #20-24. He has a sad story, but he did exist, if not just briefly.

The final issue to Iceman has come out. Bobby Drake is an Omega Level mutant and his ongoing series was phenomenal under the writing of Sina Grace. He has gone through a lot of drama but he is beyond a doubt one of the most amazing of the X-Men. Here’s my thoughts on the last issue in this attached video. What did you think of this series?

The 90s were a funny time for all media outlets, including comic books. Marvel Comics made a Swimsuit Mini Series where a few of their characters visited different locations on trips/vacations. The series involved many different artists with their interpretations of what those individual characters would be in a relaxing watery environment. I want them to do another version of this. It could be epic!

Some are practical but others are just totally out there. Who thought it would be ok for Nomad (pictured above) in a string bikini with his baby ‘Bucky’ looking up at his package. You can’t make this stuff up.

Luckily the other art don’t involve anything like that, but a few are still a bit out there in wackiness. I’m pretty sure that Doom above brought that blow up doll to Wakanda for him and Kingpin to share. Anyways though, as you can see, the artists did not just focus on females and many males were shown in this comic book mini series and they are just as sexually objectified as their females counterparts. Here’s a few of them that I enjoyed from the series.

I could have sworn last years ‘Legacy’ event in Marvel was their “Fresh Start,” but apparently it was not the case. To be honest, I have only been slightly more interested in Marvel Comics since they did their Rebirth, Legacy juncture. Maybe this will be something bigger. Or maybe they will do something more noteworthy. As it is, it sounds more like an excuse to start over titles with new #1’s, which is a horrible idea in my opinion. I shy away from #1s now as it seems to just be an overused gimmick. Let’s see what happens! In the attached video, Marvel just briefly shows what is to come with no real spoilers.

What do you think? Is this a good idea or bad idea?

The Iceman series is near the end. Wolverine’s son Daken, has taken it upon himself to torture Bobby Drake and steal one of his recent mutant teenager recruits and kill Iceman’s new boyfriend Judah. So this issue is a huge epic battle – Iceman vs. Daken.

Iceman’s series is close to an end, but there’s still a few adventures left to have. His rivalry with Daken comes to a head. Daken has the Apocalypse Seed in him activated and takes on our favorite ice powered Omega Mutant. This is great!

Young Iceman and Adult Iceman team up to take on Pyro. The real battle however, takes place over dinner. Adult Bobby Drake’s parents want to meet the time displaced counter part to their son. Things do not go so well.

With the approaching 10 year anniversary of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Vanity Fair has an interesting article and interview with President of Marvel Studios – Kevin Feige. What’s intriguing to hear is that there is a “finale” to the universe that is planned out for Avengers 4. The pictures are just promotional pictures, so Captain America has no beard (as shown in the Infinity War leaked trailer) and Thor has Mjolnir back. Still though, these are great!

I would love to see Marvel’s first family of superheroes and mutants be used in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Over at CNBC, it was reported that 21st Century Fox has been holding talks to sell most of the company to Disney. FUCK YEAH! Of course this does not mean anything until actual is signed done. But I feel as though a fully combined Marvel Cinematic Universe could be so awesomely badass!!!

How would the Fantastic Four and X-Men work though? How would you work them into the current universe? I think that Infinity Stone – Reality Gem could come in handy with this. What do you think? How could the X-Men and Fantastic Four work into the Marvel movie-verse?
