Justice League comes out this week. Some people have already seen it and others are seeing it opening night. I will not get to see it until Friday, which feels like an eternity! I have my hopes set at a medium level, so I’m not looking to be disappointed, but I am hoping to be thoroughly entertained. I will not hold this up to a precedence that it will be the most awesome thing ever, but I will call it out if it it just complete garbage. Word of mouth from other geeks that have already seen it do say that it is much better than they thought it would be. That’s good to hear. Everyone has their own opinions and sometimes a great movie by one person could be a complete waste of time to another. So I’ll judge for myself. Are you seeing it? Are you excited? Do you not care?

Justice League Dark – The DC Animated movie has come out. A magical supernatural problem has happened around the planet that the Justice League cannot handle on their own. They realize that the event is magical in nature and that outside magical superheroes are needed to help. Constantine is brought in and he rounds up several other supernatural characters to fight this foe. Great movie with some minor flaws, but very entertaining. Check out my thoughts on the movie in this video.

Other than the usual plot of “facing a greater enemy,” most details on the new Justice League movie have not leaked. There are lots of speculation as to how the story will unfold either involving Darseid, Atlantis or combinations of threats. One thing for sure though is that the costumes and looks of the characters are totally rocking! Aquaman looks like he’s one of the most powerful members. Cyborg looks straight out of a comic book and his design is so sweet! Wonder Woman always looks like she’s about fuck someone up, and I love how badass she is! I am getting very antsy to find out more on this movie. Despite Zack Snyder still directing it, I do hope for the best.

So far we know by DC that: Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

The Ray is back in the DC Universe and will be joining the Justice League of America. This one-shot issue serves as a new origin and a coming out story for the Ray, also known as Raymond Terrill. Grant Morrison re-envisioned the character as being a gay man in the Multiversity story and this translated over into the main DC Universe. Raymond has been absent mostly from the DC Universe in the past couple of years. This issue has writer Steve Orlando re-telling a great coming of age superhero story that keeps many of his basic roots from the former DC Universe while also re-imagining other aspects. Artist Stephen Byrne illustrates each panel great with an almost cartoon vibe coming from it. Great issue and spectacular way to usher in a character that will be deservedly part of a heroic superhero team in the DC Universe.

Never did I think that the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers would ever cross over into the DC Universe, but writer Tom Taylor and artist Stephen Byrne do just that! This first issue has a huge catastrophe take place that is set 36 hours in the future with Superman consoling Zack, the Black Ranger for something that has occurred. We soon see that there was an event taking place between the Justice League and the Power Rangers that has lead to an epic journey.

justice-league-dark-movie-starts-2016

The Justice League is known for saving Earth from cosmic threats. But when the world is facing supernatural/magical threats, the Justice League Dark fills in. This is so cool! I’ve never been the biggest Justice League Dark fan, but I am stoked for this movie to come out. If anything, just to have another badass version of the bisexual Constantine in animated form.

Justice League Dark is set to be released in early 2017.

New Movie (4).Movie_Snapshot

There’s a channel on YouTube called DC Fans that recently asked for a video to air on their channel regarding the first part to the Darkseid War in the Justice League storyline. They also said, free copy of the trade paperback would be sent to me. In my infinite wisdom, said, free? Hell’s yeah! I had already read this series anyway, but I’d take a trade paperback version since I buy all my comics online digitally now. So here’s my review on this first part to the story. It is a Geoff Johns story and it is incredibly epic!

This was a pretty good. I know a lot of haters don’t want to see Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman as anti-heroes, but I liked this story. It’s completely different from what we’re used to seeing, but I think it was a pretty cool change. Here’s my almost non-spoilery video review.
