It is official, network President of CW, Mark Pedowitz, said that a Friday the 13th TV series is in the works for 2016 release. The series will be written by Steve Mitchell & Craig Van Sickle, creators of the 1996 NBC series The Pretender. And this will actually be about Jason Voorhees and have nothing to do with the previous Friday the 13th series that was released. The site, Deadline said that the series is “described as a sophisticated, horror/crime thriller, the potential Friday The 13th series is about the ongoing quest of a detective’s search for his missing brother that is somehow tied to Jason Vorhees, a long thought dead serial killer who has now returned to wreak havoc in the new Crystal Lake.”

So, good news, we get a Friday the 13th series. Bad news, it’s on the CW. I guess it could be worse. Supernatural is on the CW and that’s a badass show that gives us some pretty gory scenes. It is still a bit censored, but not a whole lot. And the Friday the 13th series sounds like it is not taking a lead from the MTV show, Scream. With that show, I’m not a big fan.

Freddy vs Jason vs Ash

I am a big fan many slasher movies and I do love the Friday the 13th films. I love the series, even the cheesiness of all the stupid scenes of people that you just know are going to die. I even love the last couple installments before the reboot. I even read the comic book series with Ash vs. Jason vs. Freddy series. I was secretly wanting Jason to win, even though I knew it was going to be a draw. I’m still waiting for a crossover between them all and Hellraiser, so that Pinhead can get involved. Did you know that there was a comic with Jason squaring off against Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massacre?

Jason vs Leatherface

Anyways, are you a fan of the Friday the 13th series? Is this good news?

Secret Wars 5 (2).Movie_Snapshot

The Marvel Universe is being shaken pretty bad in the comics right now. Literally, all of it’s superhero titles are mixed in with the Secret War storyline. It is pretty epic. Here’s my thoughts on issue #5 of this series. Are you reading the series yourself?

Flash of Two Worlds

The CW just showed everyone what the new Jay Garrick is going to look like in the upcoming season 2 of The Flash! This character is from an alternate reality and is played by Teddy Sears. I think this season is going to be so cool. Jay Garrick is often considered to be an older version of the Flash, and in some realities, he is just as young as Barry. This is going to be interesting, being that Teddy is a pretty young man, so he is going to be similar in age to Barry in this reality. I can’t wait.

Keiynan Lonsdale Wally West

Also, if you were not aware, we also just recently saw that the CW cast Kid Flash actor, Keiynan Lonsdale. We will not get a ginger Wally, but I am still happy with the choice that we got with Australian actor Keiynan. The show is geared a bit more towards the New 52 DC Universe, which has Wally West and his family as being a black family. So it makes a lot of sense for Wally to be portrayed as black actor, like his aunt, Iris and not be adopted.

Jem Trailer 2

This is so sad…why are they doing this? Synergy is a little talking robot? What?! They’re just trying to mess with this now. It’s awful. I will continue to read the comic book and hope to god that this movie is all a bad dream. What do you think of it?

Arrow vs Stardust

Wow! I have not been interested in WWE in years. I loved it as a kid and I even watched it a bit in college because all my roommates were really big into. But after that, I forgot about it mostly. But I may actually watch the PayPerView WWE SummerSlam, just to see Stephen Amell (Oliver Queen/Arrow) fight Stardust. I don’t even know who Stardust. But I want to see them fight now! Well done WWE, you got me back!

Constantine

Matt Ryan will reprise his role as John Constantine in the upcoming season of Arrow. That’s something I guess. Poor Constantine got the short end of the stick for his series. Being aired on Friday night is a killer slot and worse, NBC never treated the show with respect. There was barely any advertisements for it. But his character will be crossing over onto Arrow, so that’s something to be happy about. In case you didn’t know, Constantine is a bi-sexual sorcerer exorcist. That’s pretty unique.

Like It Is

Ever see a movie based on a bare knuckle gay boxer? Neither have I, until now. This is entertaining but really lacks a lot of direction. There definitely isn’t any real love story involved here. The main characters are not relate-able, but not because of them being fake but the characters just do not seem all that real. Which is a shame, it is a unique story.
