It’s an AMAZING comic book day! See what I did there? Amazing Spider-Man #800 is out and one of Spidey’s buddies do not make it through this issue when the Red Goblin charges through his rampage. Rogol Zaar is a new Kryptonian killer in the first issue of The Man of Steel series. Jean Grey ponders her existence in X-Men Red Annual #1. Havok comes to his senses after turning slightly evil in X-Men Blue #28. Captain Marvel gets help from other Captain Marvels in Infinity Countdown Captain Marvel #1. Batman meets Ozymandias and Johnny Thunder finds Alan Scott’s Green Lantern in Doomsday Clock #5. Here’s my thoughts on this week’s comic load in the attached video. What’s your load look like?

Jamie Foxx has officially been cast as Al Simmons, also known as Spawn from Image Comics. This is great casting in my opinion. Foxx is a spectacular performer and can do the demonic anti-hero justice. This is not the first attempt at a Spawn movie, as the 90s gave it their best attempt with horrible CGI work. Today, with a good story, it could be much different. Being that the character of Angela is now in the Marvel Universe, I am not sure whether or not she can make an appearance in the movie, but I hope we can get something that would emphasize the war between heaven and hell. What do you think of this casting?

It’s comic book day!
We have the first issue of the Black Panther #1 – The Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda. T’Challa is in space and captured by the Nameless. So many questions!
Wonder Woman #47 – Wonder Woman vs. Supergirl. Darn awesome fight with the Dark Gods as the antagonists.
Batman Beyond #20 – Target Batman! Terry’s little brother Matt, has taken up the mantle of Robin and that is just badass!!!
Star Wars: The Last Jedi #2 – Movie Adaptation. We’re at that part where Leia seemingly ‘dies,’ and we have a bit more inner monologue that we did not get in the movie.
Flash #47 – Flash War Part 1 – Wally West remembers everything from the previous DC Universe. So of course time traveling Zolomon Zoom and Eobard Thawne are both going to mess with the Flashes with an as of yet undefined plan. This should be awesome with the possibility of the Flash family FINALLY being reunited.
Detective Comics #981 – Batman Eternal FINALE! This will be it for Tim Drake and Stephanie Brown for a bit. It leaves off with hope that maybe we will get future adventures with Red Robin and Spoiler exploring other timelines to find their missing friends. Maybe Young Justice friends? Hopefully? Please?! Check out my thoughts on my comic pull list in the attached video.

Well this could suck for those of us that wanted to see a united Marvel Cinematic Universe that included the Fantastic Four and the X-Men. The Hollywood Reporter stated: Comcast Corporation confirms that it is considering, and is in advanced stages of preparing, an offer for the businesses that Fox has agreed to sell to Disney. Walt Disney Co. put in a bid at $52.4 billion back in late 2017.

There are those that are both on the side of Disney purchasing Fox and others that think this would make Disney too powerful and influential in the world of Media. Regardless though, nothing has been been official either way, so anything could happen. Money is what this industry is all about, so it will go to the highest bidder in the end. I know there is much more at stake the geeky side of Disney having a united Marvel movie universe, but personally, it is something I would love to see on screen one day.

May 22, 1930 is the day that Harvey Milk was born. It is also Harvey Milk Day. Harvey was a gay rights activist in the 1970s who was the first openly elected gay city supervisor in San Francisco. He is responsible for passing several gay rights ordinances and is celebrated as one of the most famous openly gay politicians within the US. I admit I knew little about Harvey Milk before the making of the movie Milk, starring Sean Penn, but today is his day. This was made by the Harvey Milk Foundation, which itself was founded in 2009 Stuart Milk, Harvey’s nephew and Harvey’s political aide, Anne Kronenberg.

If you are unaware, there is a children’s book titled Pride: The Story of Harvey Milk and the Rainbow Flag that was written Rob Sanders and illustrated by Steven Salerno. This is a great story on Harvey and talks about the positives of love, hope, equality, and pride. I just received this myself and will be doing a video on it soon. Check it out when you get a chance. It is available on Amazon on both digital and printed formats: https://www.amazon.com/dp/0399555315/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_3rcbBbGTHPACJ

Unfortunately Harvey was assassinated in 1978, after only serving 11 months in office. In his time, he influenced many people to sway from hate and inspired others to help with the rights of all LGBT of the world. This is not a national holiday or even a day that many even know about about, but it is something to think about, even just for a few seconds. Harvey should be recognized for his achievements. It may seem insignificant, but I just bought a book of Harvey Milk stamps.
This stamp is available on the USPS website: www.Store.usps.com/store/product/buy-stamps/harvey-milk-S_472004.

A new character is being introduced in season 4 of Supergirl who will play Nia Nel. She is described as a transgender woman in her 20s and she will play a strong role in the upcoming story arc. No ethnicity has been stated, so she can be from any background. ComicBook.com stated that Jia will be “a confident, wunderkind of a fashionista. Once a political speechwriter, Nia is the newest addition to the CatCo investigative reporting team. With her she brings sparlking wit and biting humor but under that banter-y, chic facade, lays a soulful young woman who has much to offer the world.”This is awesome! Supergirl, along with the rest of the Arrowverse has been great in diversity that represent other communities within the superhero mythos, and this could be a great addition to CW shows. What do you think?

Have you heard about Justin Case and the Closet Monster by Mark Julien? The comic strip consists of two gay men, Justin and Peter who are in the closet and struggling with coming out. Luckily for them, there are magical creatures that live in a parallel dimension that are assigned to every gay and lesbian person in our own dimension at birth to help out in just such a case.

I have only read the previews to this comic strip, but there is a lot of comical aspects to this series, there some serious real life tones to it as well as some slightly sexual aspects. Nothing not safe for work, just some illusions to panels and crotch shots that you generally do not see in most strips. It seems great!

There are a few different characters being shown in the preview and many others that are planned to be introduced. Currently Julien has a Kickstarter that is attempting to get the series going full steam. What the fuck?! I thought this was a joke, but it’s not. Reported on Entertainment Weekly, there is a new series that is bringing back Thundercats, but in a more Titans Go! comical series. No really. This is a thing. I know it is marketed towards children, but is this really? The previous two series were astounding. This looks so…ehhh… It feels like nothing toward the original series or the 2011 remake.

The official tagline of the show states: “Staying true to the premise of the original series, Lion-O and the ThunderCats — Tygra, Panthro, Cheetara, Wilykat, and Wilykit — barely escape the sudden destruction of their home world, Thundera, only to crash land on the mysterious and exotic planet of Third Earth. Lion-O, the newly appointed Lord of the ThunderCats, attempts to lead the team as they make this planet their new home. A bizarre host of creatures and villains stand in their way, including the evil Mumm-Ra, Third Earth’s wicked ruler who will let nothing, including the ThunderCats, stop his tyrannical reign over the planet.”

The premise sounds traditional to the original 1980s Thundercats, but what the fuck are they thinking with this animation and to make it a comedy? Ugh…there was a great remake to the Thundercats series that ran on Cartoon Network that never got a finale. Why couldn’t that be done on Netflix? I would absolutely fangasm if we had a second season to that one as it was so well made and still giving respect to the original series. This new series is set to air in 2019. I will give it one episode but more than likely not be watching it.

Below is a small interview with Victor Courtwright, Producer of the show.

Netflix has shown the first official teaser poster for the upcoming She-Ra and The Princess of Power cartoon series by DreamWorks Animation Television. No trailer, and no real premise has been stated, but regardless, I want to see! I know the one animation drawing that was shown was not exactly welcomed among many fans, but it was just one image.

The official synopsis of the series states: She-Ra and the Princesses of Power is the story of an orphan named Adora (Carrero), who leaves behind her former life in the evil Horde when she discovers a magic sword that transforms her into the mythical warrior princess She-Ra. Along the way, she finds a new family in the Rebellion as she unites a group of magical princesses in the ultimate fight against evil.

The cast involves: Aimee Carrero stars as Adora/She-Ra; Karen Fukuhara as Glimmer; AJ Michalka as Catra, Marcus Scribner as Bow; Reshma Shetty as Angella; Lorraine Toussaint as Shadow Weaver; Keston John as Hordak; Lauren Ash as Scorpia; Christine Woods as Entrapta; Genesis Rodriguez as Perfuma; Jordan Fisher as Seahawk; Vella Lovell as Mermista; Merit Leighton as Frosta; Sandra Oh as Castaspella; and Krystal Joy Brown as Netossa.
