midnighter-and-apollo-2-3-movie_snapshot

The second issue to Midnighter and Apollo is out. Last we left our heroes, Apollo was killed and dragged to hell. Now Midnighter has to find a way to get to his boyfriend and save him. The irony of two heroes going to hell is not lost on me. This is a great issue, and so far I cannot wait to see how Midnighter saves his partner.

midnighter-apollo-1-3-movie_snapshot

Midnighter and Apollo are back for a mini series to close up some story elements that were left hanging from Midnighter’s solo series that recently ended. Midnighter is chasing after the man who experimented on him, Henry Bendix while Apollo is taking a trip to an alternate dimension where he may not return. Great first issue!
This was written by Steve Orlando and drawn by Fernando Blanco.

heman-thundercats-5-movie_snapshot

Besides me, who else has been waiting for a Masters of the Universe/Thundercats crossover? We get a lot of parodies that show both He-Man and Lion-O having sexual overtones with each other. We even get match ups on line with endless debates as to who would defeat the other. DC Comics has finally decided to pair the two franchises up in an independent universe. Here’s the first issue and I thought it came out pretty darn good. I avoided speaking of any real spoilers.

batman-beyond-rebirth-3-movie_snapshot

I loved Tim Drake taking up the mantle of being Batman Beyond, but I’m also glad that Terry McGcginnis has returned. Terry’s supporting cast is all present, including Max, Dana and of course his little brother, Matt. His little brother didn’t like Tim in his big brother’s role as being Batman, but he eventually accepted him. Great new beginning for this time and awesome jumping on point for new fans.

robin-hero-reborn-6-movie_snapshot

This trade paperback is a collection of Tim Drake’s first mini series. The character of Robin has come a long way. The original sidekick is Dick Grayson. He paved the way for the superhero genre to have sidekicks. Unfortunately the campiness of the 1960s Batman TV show made Robin into nothing by a joke that was constantly perplexed and surprised at the littlest of happenings. In the comic books, Dick Grayson moved on to become Nightwing, and his predecessor was Jason Todd who was ultimately killed by the Joker. After Jason came Tim Drake who held the mantle of Robin for close to two decades before he moved on himself. This trade paperback is the telling of Tim on his first training and first solo adventure without Batman. It is a great read and essential for anyone to understand where Tim Drake began his training and how he earned the respect of many readers, including myself.

cyborg-1-2-movie_snapshot

Cyborg Rebirth #1- This is a great starting point for Victor Stone fans. Granted, he is not a former member of the Titans like I had hoped but he still has a great origin that is briefly explored here. Also putting into question is his actual status as a being. Great Rebirth issue.

Supergirl Rebirth (3).Movie_Snapshot

Supergirl fans, here is DC Comics Rebirth issue on the famous female Kryptonian. Finally we have a Kara Zor-El that is acting like a real superhero and is doing her cousin proud. Here are my thoughts on this first story. This issue and the future series is being written by Steve Orlando. The artist is Emanuala Luppachino.
